Communications Panel Chairman
barbelfisher@btinternet.com
Age: 59
Occupation: Retired Retail Property Manager
Married: Married to Pauline coming up to 35 years in October
2008
Most memorable day: Because the memory keeps coming back
to me, it has to be my first ever barbel in November 1972 8lb 7ozs
Achievements in regards to barbel fishing: None really still
learning. But I did set myself two targets for the 2007/2008 season.
To catch a barbel a month and to catch a Trent double. Both targets
were achieved.
Favourite Method: This season ,fishing down the inside with
my trusty old Grice& Young, Avon Royal Supreme.
Favourite Venue/ river: Throop fishery, Dorset Stour
Achievements that may be relevant: Offering my services
to the Barbel Society, which resulted in me, without any similar
experience, putting together Barbel Fisher 25.
What's The future for you and barbel fishing?: As far as
the Society is concerned, I'll continue to shout the benefits of
membership to all who will listen . Barbel fishing in general is
a difficult question, I hope it doesn't develop further into a catch
at all cost branch of angling and that those of us who think about
conservation are able to sway the opinions of the masses.
Anything else that paints a picture: I like good food, and
a good pint of real ale, in a proper pub preferably!
